This fall, we're making space for young people to share their artwork with the community.
Teens have important things to say - their voices and dreams matter! In November, we're transforming our Community Space into a gallery of teen voice. Teens can enter art that they've already made, or create a project that demonstrates something that teens would like to see in their community.
Creating a Project
If you'd like some help thinking of a project to submit, we have created a Project Brainstorming Toolkit. Alongside that, we are facilitating weekly workshops on Thursdays at 4 PM in the library's Community Space (top floor). All teens are welcome to attend, and no registration is required. If you need access to art supplies, we have a limited capacity to provide supplies. Please fill out this form no later than Monday, October 5 to be considered.
Project Guidelines
We are accepting almost any art you can think of, provided that it is library-friendly. If you have artwork that you've made that you want to put in the show, you are welcome to do so! This includes:
- Sculptures or ceramic pieces
- Paintings
- Drawings or Illustrations (Digital included!)
- Miniatures
- Paper-mache
- Videos
- Powerpoint or other presentation
- Photographs
- Music
Submitting Art
To submit art, visit the Children's Desk and complete a submission form and drop off your piece(s). We are accepting art now through Friday, October 21.
