Record podcasts, create videos, scan old photos, and more in our mediaLAB.

The mediaLAB is fully equipped to help library patrons with their creative endeavors. For those interested in audio or film production, the space is home to cameras, microphones, editing software, and a green screen. Patrons can preserve their old photos and videos at a digital conversion station. This setup has scanning equipment capable of digitising photos, negatives, and slides, as well as VHS tapes. Users also have access to a vinyl cutting machine for making signs.

Classes and workshops are held throughout the week on a variety of topics. Please check the calendar below for upcoming events.

Equipment in the mediaLAB is available at no charge to library card holders, on a first come, first served basis during regular library hours. Specific equipment may be reserved for projects at the discretion of staff. The Lab closes 30 minutes before MPL closes. All work must be completed at that time. Projects cannot be left running or suspended while MPL is closed. MPL assumes no responsibility for projects that are unable to be completed within this time frame. Patrons are responsible for backing up and storing all of their projects as well as use and material costs associated with any projects.

The mediaLAB may be reserved for up to two hours at a time during regular library hours. To check availability or to reserve your time in the lab, send us an emailor sign-up online here.

A signed mediaLAB Agreement is required of all mediaLAB users.
