We Appreciate Every Gift

Every gift to the Meadville Public Library has a direct impact not only on the users of today, but also on those of the future. Government funding pays for only a portion of our operating expenses, and the Meadville Public Library depends on support from generous individuals like you to help fund our collections, programming, technology, children’s story hours, and so much more.

The library ensures that 100% of every gift is used to enhance its service. No monetary donation is ever used to support fund-raising or to pay administrative costs.

To help connect you, our supporters, with each other and the staff and patrons who benefit daily from your support, Meadville Public Library has established a donor recognition policy which includes our Patron’s Drive, Crawford Gives, Memorial Gifts, and Endowment Gifts.

Individuals, families, corporations and foundations are welcome to donate. Your support helps Meadville Public Library provide free access to services that many in our community could not otherwise afford. With your generosity, we can continue to be here for all of Crawford County.

Ways to Give

Memorial Gifts

Gifts of $25 or more will purchase a book to memorialize a person or significant life event. Donors may designate a specific subject and memorial information is placed in the gift book as well as in a memorial album.
Call us, email us, stop in and fill out a donation card, or print off this form and mail or return it to the library.

Contributions

Those who give to the annual Patron’s Drive, through Crawford Gives, or through current life income gifts or estate planned gifts, are recognized in the library's Annual Financial Report. Donors may also request anonymity.

Support our Book Sale

If you have books that you would like to donate to the Book Sale, please drop them off at the Library’s Main Desk. Please note that we do not accept donations of Magazines, Encyclopedias, College Textbooks, Readers Digest Condensed Versions, or VHS/Cassette Tapes.

Leave a Legacy

Meadville Public Library’s Endowment Campaign is about more than money. It’s about celebrating the library’s future as well as its past. Beginning in 1879 with a generous endowment from the H. J. Huidekoper family, Meadville Public Library has been the recipient of more than 300 gifts valued at more than $2,800,000 to help continue its mission: providing the best library service possible to the community.

The Endowment Campaign is also about honoring those who helped build the library during our 140+ year history. We invite you to consider joining our effort to provide access to the world of information.

Our campaign is aimed at growing and sustaining a vibrant public library which extends beyond actual physical walls to include the entire community. Information is being delivered in ways not even imagined 140 years ago. It’s difficult to guess what the future will bring! What has always been a constant is our philosophy of offering area residents free access to information without fees or costs.

Gifts of $10,000 or more given directly to the library or through estates are listed on a special plaque located in the library entryway. All gifts of this size are placed in the library’s endowment account and may be designated restricted or unrestricted.
