Starting January 19, 2015, the Meadville Public Library will host a Teen Reading Lounge. This is an interactive book club for readers between the ages of 12 and 18 who share a love for fantasy fiction.
The first book the Teen Reading Lounge will feature is Miss Peregrine’s Home for Peculiar Children by Ransom Riggs. Those who attend the events will receive their own copy of the book to keep. They will also be able to participate in discussions on the book, take part in creative workshops based on the book and help pick out future titles for discussion.
The first meeting will be a kick-off party with pizza and cupcakes and an introduction to the book. The Launch Party is at 6:00pm. To register for the Teen Reading Lounge, contact Joice Imel, the Fiction Librarian at the Fiction desk or call 336-1773.
Teen Reading Lounge is a program of the Pennsylvania Humanities Council, developed in part by federal Library Services and Technology Act (LSTA) funds administered by the Office of the Commonwealth Libraries, and supported by the National Endowment for the Humanities.
