He is also the 2005 winner of the Laura Ingalls Wilder Award. “The purpose of the Laura Ingalls Wilder Award is to recognize an author or illustrator whose books, published in the United States, have over a period of years made a substantial and lasting contribution to literature for children.” His birthday is June 14th!
