MPL is offering a reading program, Tales That Wag, for young children to age 12 on Saturdays at 11:00 a.m. until noon. One-on-one sessions give your child the opportunity to have the undivided attention of the dog and its handler. Participants can earn a new book of their own to keep after reading to a dog for four sessions.
Paws Hand Delivered is a local, nationally registered and approved therapy dog/handler group. They have developed a program in which your child will spend a period of 7 to 10 minutes reading to one of the dogs in the library.
There is no charge for the program, however, your child will need written permission to participate.
We hope to see you for a tail wagging good time!

Join us June 4th – August 3rd for the Summer Reading Club where we will explore all things nocturnal – the nighttime sky and its constellations, dreamers, and nocturnal animals! All craft activities will have a nighttime flair. Each arts & crafts program will be divided into two activities- one for younger children and one for older elementary aged children. Children can take home and keep the crafts made. Incentives and activities will make this an inspiring nine weeks for the whole family.
For every library book read, children will get a stamp on their sky chart. Preschoolers must listen to two books to get a stamp. For every four stamps, a prize may be selected from the display case. When 12 stamps have been collected, participants qualify for two chances to win one of the Grand Prizes. The drawing for these prizes will be during our Summer Reading Club Party scheduled at 10:00 a.m. on August 3rd.
